I knew Paul from 1st grade at St. Joe's also.  Our fathers were in business together (Ed Bergeron's Inc.) .  When at St. Joe's, my grandfather use to drive the "switcher" (the engine that would deliver rail cars to businesses in Keene after they were dropped in the yard by freight trains) at the B & M railyard in Keene.  I'd race up to the rail yard after school, to hitch a ride with him on the train.  I brought Paul (and his brother Dave) with me one day to ride along.  I can tell you as a young boy there's no greater feeling than riding in the engine of a locamotive and going across Main St. (hoping someone you knew would see you). Paul loved the trains.  And well after my grandfater retired and I stopped going, Paul continued to visit the station and keep in contact with the "switcher" crew.  I believe he did it until the trains stopped service in Keene? I still love trains.
